| The Kenya Environment and Science Journalists Association (KENSJA), the Institute for Law and Environmental Governance (ILEG), Maseno University and the Kenya Correspondents Association (KCA) will hold an International Workshop on Media and Sustainable Development in Africa.
The meeting which will take place from February 27-March 2, 2011 will examine the role of the media in sustainable development in Africa, identify capacity needs and challenges facing environmental journalism in Africa, and facilitate dialogue among policy makers, development practitioners, researchers and journalists on ways of promoting environmental journalism in the continent. It is sponsored by DANIDA and the Ford Foundation.
KENSJA considers participation of several journalists drawn from continent and other experts in the field of environment and environmental law as important in building and sustaining regional partnerships and for experience sharing.
Among those to be in attendance are Benson Ochieng, Director of ILEG, Diran Onifade, President of the African Federation of Science Journalists; Ochieng’ Ogodo, KENSJA chairman; and Deodatus Mfugale of Tanzanian Journalists Environmental Association (JET).
